- Choosing wrong type of keyword : This is a common mistake which people often do, they choose short tail keywords, which are highly competitive , instead of long tail keywords.
But what are short tail keywords?. – Short tail keywords are highly competitive keywords, for eg : If you want to choose a keyword for a Cake shop, what keyword you will choose ?? —  buy cake online , Online cake delivery , Online cake shop etc. something like that ?? – Well these keywords are very difficult to get rank on , You should choose long tail keywords like :- Suppose Cake shop in above example is in Gurgaon , So your keywords will be like : – Online Cake Delivery in Gurgaon Sector 4  . We can even add service area in the keywords  for eg :- Online cake delivery in DLF phase -1 , Online cake Shop in Gurgaon sector 4 . Now these keywords are much easier to get rank for, as you have added locations. – Just remember :- “Big Fishes are always easier to catch “ . - Keyword Stuffing :-  One of the biggest mistake, people do is that , they stuff keywords in the article.
But what is Keyword Stuffing :- Keyword stuffing  is an Old SEO trick, which doesn’t work anymore.

b) Same Meta title and Description :- This is a common mistake which people often do , by not having unique title and description for each page. A Meta title and Description Should contain all the important information, which you have written in the article. - Bad Backlink Creations or Spammy Backlinks :-Â Don’t just blindly build links from any site , getting backlinks from bad sites can hurt your ranking , One quality link from a high authority site is better than 100 backlinks from low authority sites. So focus on quality not on quantity.
- Not using Analytics and Webmaster tools :- According to Matt Cutts, Head of Search Spam at Google , if the content of your site can’t be crawled by spiders, it can’t be indexed. By configuring Webmaster tools you can monitor the accessibility of your site.
